Dear MoveOn member,
We have a big announcement to make: For months, MoveOn has been putting in place the infrastructure and plans to work on the ground in three critical states—Arizona, Florida, and Nevada—to legalize abortion by helping to pass ballot initiatives this November, and we’re thrilled to announce that we’re launching that lifesaving work today.
And it couldn’t be more urgent. In the many red states with abortion bans, children who are the victims of incest are being denied abortions, cancer patients are being denied abortions, people with fatal fetal abnormalities are being denied abortions and treated like “walking coffins.”1 This is happening day after day in red state after red state. The cruelty and suffering are far-reaching, with so many millions of us having lost our autonomy and self-determination.
But abortion bans are unpopular—in red, blue, and purple states. Everywhere. That’s why, if we do the hard work of educating voters, convincing them that their vote matters, and helping get them to the polls, we can fight back and pass ballot initiatives that secure the right to abortion in red state constitutions—where Republican lawmakers cannot touch it.
MoveOn has been working hard to launch campaigns in three critical states—Arizona, Florida, and Nevada—where initiatives will be on the ballot this fall to legalize abortion. We’ll be collaborating with organizations on the ground in each state, bringing our millions of members, data-driven campaigning, and 25 years of experience turning out voters to the polls.
In Florida, Amendment 4 would overturn Ron DeSantis’s six-week abortion ban and establish a constitutional right to abortion.
While support for Amendment 4 is strong, 60% of voters need to approve it for it to pass.
Six polls completed since April show it averaging 56% support.2 We can help close that gap and get voters to the polls, with your support.
We also need your help to counter the dirty tricks that Republicans are using in every state where abortion has been on the ballot.3
In Kansas last year, anti-abortion groups sent out deceptive text messages urging voters to “Vote YES to protect women’s health,” even though a “no” vote was to protect abortion rights.4
Now Republicans in Arizona are going even further. A leaked Republican strategy document revealed the party’s plans to introduce a fake alternative ballot initiative cloaked in pro-choice language to try to siphon votes away from the actual abortion-rights ballot initiative, naming it the “Arizona Abortion Protection Act” or the “Arizona Abortion and Reproductive Care Act.”5
Repugnant.
But together we can fight back and secure abortion rights in Arizona, Florida, and Nevada. If we educate voters, help convince them that their vote matters, and get them to the polls, we can win. But we need your help to do it.
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn’s work? Voters just defied history and stopped a MAGA wave of extremism at the polls. But there is more work to do to end the filibuster, codify abortion rights into law, and defend our freedoms, our families, and our futures. We can accomplish all this and more, but only if we work together.
Will you chip in monthly to power our critical work?
No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.
