Dear MoveOn member,

Shortly before Donald Trump spoke at the RNC on Thursday, former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan took the stage with this refrain: “Let Trumpamania run wild!”1

Trumpamania is right.

If the RNC has shown us anything, it is that the Republican Party has gone from privately holding their nose while publicly supporting Trump to true believers who will do whatever is necessary to bring his dark, authoritarian vision for America to fruition.

Enter Project 2025. The 920-page plan for a white Christian nationalist takeover of America was written by at least 140 former Trump staffers in an effort to ensure that, unlike in 2017, if Trump steps back inside the White House, he will have a meticulous, thoroughly detailed plan that can be implemented on Day 1 to dismantle our democracy and give him absolute power.

In Trump’s speech, he promised to carry out many of the core proposals in Project 2025. He promised to close the border and launch the largest deportation operation in history. He promised that he would use the U.S. military against Americans. He promised to reverse protections for LGBTQ+ Americans. And on, and on, and on.2

Trump can try to pretend he doesn’t know about Project 2025, but his own speech proves him wrong. And we can’t let voters be tricked into believing otherwise.

That’s why MoveOn is ramping up a huge effort to educate key voters in battleground states about Project 2025. Will you start a $5 monthly donation to help us support our time- and resource-intensive work from today until Election Day?

Yes, I’ll chip in monthly.

No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.

Much of the RNC was devoted to operatives stirring up vitriol against President Biden and the media frenzy about the state of his candidacy.3

The Biden campaign is focused right now on the Biden candidacy—which is why it is SO important that MoveOn is able to do this campaigning around Project 2025.

With the largest membership of any progressive organization, we are uniquely positioned to reach the 1.5 million voters that our political analysts have identified as make-or-break for this election. And while the candidates focus on running their campaigns, we can focus on talking to the voters about the stark difference between a future under a Biden presidency and a future under Trump.

It’s up to us to let voters know how Project 2025 lays a roadmap for replacing tens of thousands of civil servants with Trump loyalists who will destroy the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Education while weaponizing the Department of Justice against Trump’s political opponents.4

It’s up to us to inform voters about the Project 2025 directive to remove all traces of protections for LGBTQ+ communities and people of color, rolling back civil rights 100 years and rewriting the government in a biblical image.5

It’s up to us to show voters how Project 2025’s “fetal personhood” mandate undoes the right to abortion, IVF, and even birth control.6

And it’s up to us to connect the dots between Donald Trump and Project 2025.

Because we know that when voters understand Project 2025, they reject it—by incredibly wide margins.7

Are you with us? Start a $5 monthly donation right now.

I’ll chip in monthly.

I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.

To do all that, we are building a cadre of social media influencers, and we are highlighting MoveOn members’ personal stories. We are relaunching our Real Voter Voices project, which in 2018 used testimonials from ordinary Americans to reach tens of thousands of voters, which helped achieve a blue wave and take back the House of Representatives. This year, we are collecting thousands of testimonial videos from MoveOn members speaking authentically about the stakes of the 2024 election and our civil rights, why they are voting, and the candidates they are supporting. So we’re planning to flood the digital airwaves with members, micro-influencers, and MoveOn’s own accounts.

Kendall, you and the rest of MoveOn’s membership are standing between our democracy and a Project 2025 future. As a grassroots organization, we depend on our supporters to see our $32 million election plan through November. We can’t do it without you.

Will you start a monthly donation to help MoveOn educate voters about the danger of Project 2025 and the Trump-Vance ticket? Your monthly $5 donation will power our work from now until Election Day.

I’ll chip in monthly.

I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn’s work? Voters just defied history and stopped a MAGA wave of extremism at the polls. But there is more work to do to end the filibuster, codify abortion rights into law, and defend our freedoms, our families, and our futures. We can accomplish all this and more, but only if we work together.

Will you chip in monthly to power our critical work?

Yes, I’ll chip in $5 a month.

No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.
