Dear MoveOn member,
Project 2025 isn’t just a plan for Donald Trump’s second term—it’s already underway.
The crux of the extremist program is giving Trump unprecedented power, and we’re seeing it in action right now. On Monday, Trump-appointed federal judge Aileen Cannon dismissed special prosecutor Jack Smith’s classified documents case against Trump, saying it was “unconstitutional.”1
On the same day, delegates to the Republican National Convention walked into the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee to a huge banner declaring that the Heritage Foundation—the lead funder and author of Project 2025—was a sponsor of the convention.2
And across the nation, Republican state legislatures are implementing the main planks of the Project 2025 platform, from banning abortion to overturning climate change regulations to destroying public education in favor of private school vouchers.3,4,5
No matter how they try to deny it, the Republican Party is Project 2025, and Project 2025 is the Republican Party. There is no longer any question that they are already enacting this blueprint for turning America into an authoritarian police state by purging civil servants and suppressing dissent. As Robert Reich has warned us, they are imposing a far-right, extremist Christian nationalist agenda on our country … by executive order and without an act of Congress.
We have a mandate to educate voters about Project 2025 and how the Trump-Vance administration would see it through. MoveOn is leading the charge to change the national narrative about this plan, and we need your help to keep going even bigger.
We cannot let Project 2025 ever see the light of day. Our remaining rights and freedoms and democracy depend on it. Will you start a $5 monthly donation to MoveOn to power our work between now and Election Day?
No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.
We just cannot let Trump’s MAGA Republicans continue to spin the story that Project 2025 is just “think tank stuff” that is not the reality of the party’s platform.6
Just look at some of the major elements of what Project 2025 wants for the nation and what Republican legislatures are doing right now:
- Dismantle the Department of Education and privatize schools: A dozen states already have a universal private school voucher program.7
- Ban abortion: 21 states have restrictions and bans in place.8
- Remove civil rights protections for people of color and LGBTQ+ communities: 30 states have already either introduced or passed laws banning diversity and equity initiatives.9
Project 2025 is already rolling along, and the election hasn’t even happened yet!
And if Trump is elected, the results are going to be nightmarish.
Not only is Trump planning on implementing horrific policies, he is planning on using his office as a place of retribution.
Just last week, a Raw Story investigation found that a Trump ally and former U.S. military officer has drawn up a list of 350 elected officials, civil service employees, and journalists that he has designated a “Deep State Target List” he intends to arrest once he is an official in the administration.10
And Trump has already said he plans to use the National Guard against the American people and perform mass deportation raids on immigrants.11
MoveOn is working to pull voters’ attention from the horse race to what’s important—the vast difference between a Trump future and a Biden future. Will you start a $5 monthly donation to support MoveOn’s work between today and Election Day?
No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.
Fortunately, we do know that once voters know what’s actually in Project 2025, they hate it. And now they are finally understanding that Trump and his MAGA cronies are behind it.
It’s about doing the work to make sure as many people as possible know all about Project 2025 and what it is doing to our nation.
MoveOn’s superpower is our breadth and huge megaphone. We’re currently running a massive election campaign that has us engaging voters in every corner of the country: in person, online, on their phones, and with messengers they trust—from micro-influencers on social media platforms to MoveOn members in their own community to their very own friends, family, and colleagues whom we’re organizing through our “vote tripling” program.
This outreach is successful, but it takes A LOT of resources. Will you start a $5 monthly donation to MoveOn and ensure we have the budget to see this work through until November?
No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn’s work? Voters just defied history and stopped a MAGA wave of extremism at the polls. But there is more work to do to end the filibuster, codify abortion rights into law, and defend our freedoms, our families, and our futures. We can accomplish all this and more, but only if we work together.
Will you chip in monthly to power our critical work?
