Dear MoveOn member,

This is what people power looks like.

More than 195,000 MoveOn members signed our petition demanding that the NFL stop ICE from targeting fans, workers, and communities at Super Bowl LX despite DHS Secretary Noem’s threats that ICE would be “all over” the event.1

And on Tuesday, we delivered those signatures to NFL HQ in Manhattan to demand accountability from one of the most powerful sports leagues in the world.

Just hours after our petition delivery and press conference, the NFL’s Chief of Security announced that there would be no ICE operations at the Super Bowl this Sunday.2

For months, the Trump administration had been openly threatening an ICE operation at the Super Bowl while the NFL remained silent. Meanwhile, we kept up the pressure on the NFL with aerial banners flying over playoff game stadiums, gathering petition signatures, and sending thousands of letters to the NFL demanding they do the right thing and speak out.

We know this fight isn’t over. MoveOn members and tens of millions of people will be watching closely this Sunday to make sure the NFL follows through on this commitment. And we won’t stop pushing until ICE’s violence ends and our communities are free from their terror.
