Congress is coming home next week. That means that your representative and senators, who have the power and responsibility to stop Elon Musk’s attack on so much that the government funds, will hear and see us when we remind them that they work for us, not Musk.
During the upcoming congressional recess (February 15-23), MoveOn members nationwide will gather at town halls, outside congressional offices, and in public spaces to push back against the corrupt influence of billionaires like Trump and Musk. We’re making it clear: We won’t stand by while they rig the system for themselves at the expense of everyday people.
Wherever you are, whoever your lawmakers are, we need you in on the action! Whether your representative is a leading voice pushing back against Musk’s hostile takeover who deserves kudos, or a Musk apologist who deserves your righteous anger, it’s critically important that they hear and see how concerned we are about Musk’s power grab and attack on our programs while they’re at home. With the razor-thin Republican majority in the House, we only need to convince a handful of them that Elon Musk is bad for our communities in order to stop him from dismantling our government.
By showing up, we can force them to answer for their choices and highlight what’s at stake.
Plan a public event to remind your member of Congress they work for us, not Musk. If you are near an in-district office, consider doing a visibility event outside. If you’re not near an in-district office, pick a site that is being impacted by Musk—a federal building, a hospital, etc. If your member of Congress is holding public events for constituents, create an event to recruit others to join you in attending and you can make sure they get questions about Musk.
