We are seeing a big shift in people’s opinions of Donald Trump and his authoritarian regime.
Trump’s approval ratings are lower than ever, with less than 35% of people approving of his handling of the economy, and just 31% thinking the country is headed in the right direction.1
This is a drastic change from the beginning of the year. What happened? Trump’s policies are incredibly unpopular—and more importantly, more people know about them.2
You played a big part in educating the public about how Trump’s policies are harming them, because MoveOn members and volunteers have made more than 2.1 million calls this year through MoveOn’s phone banks.
Thousands of MoveOn members have called people about Trump’s cuts to Medicaid. We’ve called about ICE abductions. We’ve called people about the dangers Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s agenda poses, and other topics as well. And we’re seeing progress.
MoveOn is devoting significant time and money to these phone banks, because the more people know about Trump’s policies, the more they mobilize against them. But if we want to keep this work going now, we need your support.

At the beginning of the summer, 1 in 3 people didn’t know enough about Trump’s disastrous budget bill to have an opinion on it.3
Now more people than ever know that 17 million people are at risk of losing their health insurance and that social programs are being gutted in order to give a massive tax break to the wealthy.4
We’ve also had the largest phone bank in MoveOn’s history, with more than 3,000 people making calls at the same time. Altogether, our phone banks have totaled 5,837 hours!
And when we reach out like that, when we inform the public and mobilize the grassroots, change happens.

We can’t emphasize enough how unusual these phone banks are in a nonfederal election year.
Our phone-banking tool alone costs $75,000, and the manpower and training cost us even more. It’s a big budget item.
But when you’re facing authoritarianism, there is no holding back, and we are seeing a real sea change coming out of these phone banks.
It’s going to take all of us coming together and bringing even more people into the movement, training them, equipping them with the tools to help them organize their own communities, and being a critical part of a web of organizations helping to unite us all and bring us into the streets
