Breaking news: The New York Times just confirmed we’re headed for the worst health care cost spikes in more than two decades. Let’s fix this.
8 million people have already lost health care coverage because of Congress’s $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act (ACA). [1] Now, the damage is spreading. Employer health costs are set to rise by an average of 11 percent next year, the sharpest jump in more than two decades, hitting roughly 160 million people who get coverage through work. [2]
Here’s why—hospitals are planning to charge employer plans more to make up for unpaid medical bills from the growing number of patients who are uninsured. That’s a direct result of Congress cutting $1 trillion from Medicaid and letting the ACA tax credits expire.
*Your voice is needed to help reverse these health care cuts.
Thank you for standing with families.
