Moms Rising – March 9, 2026

Posted on March 9, 2026

Friend, this is starting to get creepy.

This week, President Trump escalated the stakes to an all-time high, vowing that he will refuse to sign any legislation—including critical funding bills—until the U.S. Senate passes the disastrous SAVE America Act, which significantly suppresses voting rights. [1]

*Join the over 14k MomsRising members who have already signed on to tell Congress to not give in to Trump’s anti-voter agenda. *When you click you’ll automatically sign on to the letter below.

Weakening voting rights just became President Trump’s top priority. He called it a “Country defining fight,” as he pushes U.S. Senate leadership to bypass traditional rules to force it through. [2] While the anti-voter “SAVE Act 2.0” is being fast-tracked, our right to vote is being hit from every angle, including these harmful proposals that limit our voting rights:

  • The “Marriage Barrier”: The Act requires a passport or a birth certificate that matches your current name. For 69 million married women, their birth certificates don’t match their current legal married names. [3]
  • Passport Access Cut: Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s department just ordered 15% of public libraries to stop processing passports, cutting off the most accessible option for working families. [4]
  • The Voter Data Grab: While the SAVE Act moves through Congress, the DOJ is also suing dozens of states to seize unredacted voter rolls containing private information like the last four digits of Social Security numbers. Critics warn this data could be used for intimidation or to force mass purges of eligible voters. [5]

Tell Congress to not give in to this anti-American agenda: REJECT the anti-voter SAVE Act

TAKE ACTION

Protecting the right to vote is getting more critical by the day. When you click, you’ll automatically sign on to our letter to Congress, which says:

We urge you to vote NO on the SAVE Act because this bill will create huge barriers to register to vote for the more than half of Americans who do not have passports. More than 21 million eligible voters don’t have these documents readily available. When Kansas and Arizona implemented similar requirements, they blocked tens of thousands of eligible American citizens from registering to vote.

Moreover, this legislation would end voter registration drives, online and mail voter registration, and other voter registration efforts that are critical to voters, regardless of political party.

The SAVE Act is a dangerous anti-voter bill that will not make our elections safer, but will create barriers that weaken our democracy and silence voters, regardless of political party.

Tell Congress to not give in to this anti-American agenda: REJECT the anti-voter SAVE Act

The SAVE Act does nothing to make elections safer—it is already illegal for non-citizens to vote in America. Instead, it forces working moms who changed their names when they got married to spend hundreds of dollars and hours of time on paperwork just to exercise a fundamental right.

Together, we can keep our right to vote intact.

Nina, Kristin, and the whole MomsRising.org & MamásConPoder Team

P.S.– We want to hear from YOU. How would these new document requirements impact your family? Share your story here.

Time is running out to vote! Drop your ballot off at one of these ballot boxes: www.bentoncountywa.gov/government/elected_officials/auditor/elections/current_election/drop_boxes...If you know someone: a parent, sibling or friend, who doesn’t vote because they have a feeling it doesn’t matter.... Tell them to vote for their kids, to vote for their brother or sister, for their neighbor. It might matter to that other person and we are MUCH stronger when we do things for each other... not for ourselves. #vote #franklincountywa #bentoncountywa #tricities ...

Our iconic Rattlesnake Mountain is known as Laliik to Native Americans, for whom the mountain has been sacred for millennia.  The oft repeated and dubious local claim that it's the tallest treeless mountain neglects the true significance of its geology and ecology.  Its incorporation into the Hanford Site in 1943 initiated a complex history of federal involvement, culminating in its current and persistent off-limits status.

This forum will describe the mountain's history, geology, ecology, and cultural significance and seek to understand perspectives on possible futures for one of the region's treasures.
