Here’s what’s important: Freedom should be something we can actually feel. In our paycheck. At the doctor’s office. In the classroom. It’s being there for our children when they need us. Earning equal pay and a living wage. Groceries that don’t break the bank. Child care that doesn’t cost as much as a second mortgage. Choosing what’s best for our families. Sending our kids to schools where every child belongs and can thrive.
This year, we’re celebrating 250 years of working toward something worth fighting for—liberty and justice for ALL. And when we say all? We mean ALL moms and families.
That’s why we’re launching the Mom Declaration for Life, Liberty, and Happiness: 12 things every elected leader in this country should be working towards to make our country a place where all moms and families can thrive!
250 years in—we’re still working to build that “More Perfect Union,” and moms aren’t giving up! Our voices are needed more than ever. Why? In the past year, since Republicans in Congress passed Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill, stripping health care and food assistance from families and driving up costs, moms have shown up everywhere. [1] In the halls of Congress, in the streets, around kitchen tables, and in our communities. We made our voices heard, told our stories, and stood in our power. We did it all while packing lunches, picking up medications, getting kids to camp on time, and keeping our families going. And public opinion is changing!
But the emergency isn’t over: One year after the largest cuts to health care and food assistance in history, families are feeling it—less food on the table, less money in household budgets, and less access to the health care we count on. [2] [3] We won’t back down. We’re still in it, and we’re still rising!
Add your name to the Mom Declaration—and we’ll deliver the Declaration to your member of Congress!
Families are the backbone of our communities, our economy, and our nation. Our policies should reflect that. The Mom Declaration does exactly that: it’s a blueprint for an America where all moms and families can fulfill the promise of our nation’s Declaration of Independence—the “unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
Here it is:
🩺LIFE 🩺
