Dear Friend,
This past weekend, Washington State House and Senate lawmakers released some big plans—their budget proposals through 2027. Thanks to you, the worst-case scenario is officially off the table. We dodged some major cuts, and now we need your help passing the Millionaires Tax so we can start reinvesting in our families for real!
Sign on to urge House lawmakers to pass the Washington State Millionaires Tax!
We’re celebrating the good news—we protected what matters! Because of your advocacy, the current budget avoids many of the bad cuts that we were deeply concerned about. We successfully protected the child care budget by preventing enrollment caps and eligibility changes while also maintaining full funding for infant and childhood mental health consultation, equity grants, and rate enhancements for infant care. These wins mean stability for thousands of families today. We’re breathing a major sigh of relief—and feeling energized knowing that our collective voice made these accomplishments possible.
While this budget keeps us afloat, many families are still treading water. Washington State is still in a steep $2.3 billion budget deficit. If we don’t figure out a plan for new revenue, all the bad cuts we just avoided are going to be completely necessary in the future—and we may even be looking at far more harmful cuts.
Tell the House you stand with lawmakers to pass the Millionaires Tax!
The Millionaires Tax (SB 6346) is the tool we need to move from simply holding the line to making real progress. By generating nearly $3.5 billion annually from just 0.005% of the population, we can begin to reinvest in child care programs that have experienced millions of dollars in cuts and delays over the past several years. Unlocking new revenue through the Millionaires Tax is the first step down the road towards reinvestment in child care and our children’s futures!

Dear Representative,
Thank you for avoiding a harmful cap on Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) or changes to WCCC eligibility in the proposed budget. We know that a cap would be devastating to families, particularly those in need of infant care, and reductions in eligibility would upend the lives of thousands of working parents. Moms, parents, and families from across Washington stand with you and thank you for your outstanding leadership!
We urge lawmakers to stand with us and the majority of Washingtonians in support of the Millionaires Tax (SB 6346) to ensure we can avoid those kinds of devastating cuts in the future. This bill will not only bring structural reform to the tax code but also generate billions in future revenue to reinvest in programs hard-hit by this biennium’s deep cuts—including to childcare and early learning.
Let’s get the Millionaires Tax across the finish line!
With gratitude,
