We wanted to make sure you saw a major one – Justice Colleen Melody is officially endorsed by Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates. 

Before her appointment to the Washington State Supreme Court, Justice Melody spent a decade as the Chief of the Civil Rights Division in the Attorney General’s Office. In that role, she was on the front lines of safeguarding reproductive rights in our state:

• Protecting Medication Abortion from Federal Threats: She co-led Washington’s multi-state federal lawsuit to strip away restrictive federal barriers on mifepristone, successfully securing an injunction that guaranteed the safety and availability of medication abortion throughout our state.*
• Ensuring Access to the Full Range of Care: She enforced Washington’s Reproductive Privacy Act statewide, ensuring public hospital districts offer abortion services in addition to maternity care services.*
• Defending the Reproductive Shield Law: She implemented Washington’s landmark protections—ensuring that patients seeking care in our state, and the dedicated providers who care for them, are legally protected from out-of-state political interference and prosecution.*

Justice Melody’s deep legal expertise and unwavering commitment to civil rights are exactly what we need to maintain a fair, independent, and balanced Supreme Court.
