As we celebrate Labor Day, I wanted to take a moment and share why today is so significant for me.
My campaign for State Senate in the new 14th District is built on the values of hard work, perseverance, and determination. These aren’t just slogans for me – they are the principles I live by, thanks to the example set by my parents.
Growing up, I watched my parents work hard as agricultural workers and union members. My parents dedication for their jobs and community has always been an inspiration to me. Their commitment showed me it’s not just about making a living; but also about making a difference and contributing to something greater than themselves. My parents are the reason I am fighting for the rights and dignity of workers in our community.
This Labor Day, we have a unique opportunity to honor the legacy of hard work and campaign to bring those values to Olympia. I am honored to have received endorsements from more than 20 labor organizations, including:
American Federation of Teachers
International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers District Lodge 751
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 77 and 112
Service Employees International Union (SEIU) 6, 775, 925 and 1199
Teamsters, 760, 839 and 117
United Farm Workers Union
United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) 3000
Washington Building Trades
Washington Education Association
Washington Federation of State Employees
Washington State Labor Council

And many more. These unions and I share a commitment to workers’ rights and community empowerment, and I am proud to have their support
Thank you for your support and for standing with us this Labor Day.
With gratitude,
