Did you hear? Our opponent Curtis King is listed on Washington Conservation Action’s “Dirty Dozen” list: King was rated as one of the 12 worst candidates for conservation and environmental justice on Washington ballots this year. Washington Conservation Action gave him a 0% score and listed the following reasons:
“Curtis King has routinely defended oil companies and opposed efforts to make big companies pay for their pollution. After the passage of the Climate Commitment Act, King criticized the ‘demonizing of oil companies.’ He has spoken out against green fuel efforts.”
You can read more and see the full “Dirty Dozen” list here.
In contrast, Maria has earned the endorsement of Washington Conservation Action. As Senator, Maria will work with the new head of the Department of Natural Resources to improve the health of our forests. Healthy forests will mean fewer and smaller wildfires – and cleaner air, even in communities far from the fires themselves.
Wildfires cost lives and property and fill our skies with haze and toxins – especially harmful for children, our elders, and our workers. Wildfires have escalated in frequency and intensity in recent years, so we must step up our efforts to prevent them.
Our forests and natural resources make our part of Washington stunningly beautiful. We must better prevent and suppress the deadly wildfires that ravage our forests and contaminate our air.
What happens in the next two weeks will impact our representation for the next four years, and we know that we cannot afford to put off protecting our environment. Will you join us in protecting our region’s health and Central Washington’s beautiful natural environment? Click here to contribute to Maria’s campaign today!
