I am running for State Senate to be a voice in Olympia for my community. I was born and raised right here in Yakima.
Both of my parents are union members through their seasonal work at Del Monte Foods. Growing up my parents didn’t have access to affordable and reliable childcare, so during the weekends and summers they took me picking with them.
I remember running around in the orchards, carrying water jugs and helping pick the low hanging fruit (apples, cherries, pears), or trying to sleep on the wooden bins because they couldn’t leave me alone in the car.
My parents emphasized the importance of obtaining an education. I attended Yakima Public Schools and graduated from A.C. Davis High School, as the first in my family to graduate from high school. I then earned an associates degree from Yakima Valley College and my bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University. After college, I returned back to my community.
Central Washington has always been my home. We value hard work, perseverance, and determination. I want to make sure our values have a voice in Olympia. That’s why I’m running for State Senate. And I need your help to get there.
¡Adelante!
