Nine years ago today, a country music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, turned into the site of the deadliest mass shooting by a single gunman in modern American history.
In a matter of minutes, 60 precious lives were stolen, over 800 people were injured, and thousands of survivors, first responders, and families were left carrying invisible wounds that endure to this day.

We hold space for every single one of the 60 victims, their loved ones, and the hundreds of survivors who wake up every day carrying the weight of October 1, 2017.
#VegasStrong is much more than a hashtag. It’s a testament to human resilience. Organizations like the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center step up to offer victim advocacy, counseling, and legal support, proving that even in our darkest moments, community and compassion prevails.
We owe it to the victims of Route 91, to their loved ones, and to every young person in this country who deserves to live without fear, to build a future free from mass gun violence. Anger and grief sparked our movement, but it is hope, relentless action, and community support that keep us moving forward.
At March for Our Lives, we believe that remembering is essential. But memory without action leaves us vulnerable to repeating the past.
Every single day, our youth organizers are training student leaders, pushing back against corporate gun lobbyists, and fighting for real accountability to make sure no other community has to endure what Las Vegas did.
Thank you for standing with us, remembering with us, and believing in what we can achieve when we unite.
With love and resolve,
March For Our Lives
P.S. If you or someone you know was affected by the Route 91 tragedy or any incident of mass violence, self-help tools like the Transcend NMVC app and direct support through the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center are available to assist in the healing process. You are never alone.
