One year ago today, Minnesota lost two beautiful souls to an act of unfathomable violence.

Melissa, her husband Mark and their beloved Golden Retriever, Gilbert were shot and killed together inside their Brooklyn Park home. They were partners in life, a devoted mother and father, and on that terrible morning, they were taken together in a politically motivated assassination. Investigators later uncovered a hit list with nearly 70 names – targeting lawmakers, abortion providers, and advocates.
This attack was designed to breed terror and silence a movement. It was meant to make us surrender to anger and despair.
But we refuse to let fear win. Before she was stolen from us, Melissa promised that gun violence prevention would be a defining priority for her state. Today, we honor both Melissa and Mark by turning our grief into unyielding action.
We are building a future where no family has to endure the stolen moments, the empty chairs, and the profound grief left in the wake of gun violence. Will you stand with us by giving a donation today?
Melissa and Mark’s legacy will endure through the family they raised, the community they shaped, and the young people rising up today to demand change.
Thank you for refusing to back down,
