We’ve got a rare opportunity on our hands.
NPR recently reported that a record number of U.S. lawmakers are retiring in 2026 — Democrats and Republicans alike.
That means dozens of open seats at every level of government. And those open seats? They’re some of the most winnable races for young progressives like the ones we’re backing.
This isn’t a drill. This is the moment to build a new bench of leaders who will fight like hell for our future — and it’s up to us to make sure they win.
We’re preparing to recruit, train, and elect the next wave of badass young leaders to fill those seats. But we need grassroots support to do it. Can you pitch in $25 or whatever you can right now?
For decades, the system has been rigged to keep young people out — favoring older, wealthier, and well-connected incumbents who could hold their seats for life.
But now? The door is opening. And we’re stepping through.
At Leaders We Deserve, we’re not waiting for permission. We’re building something bold — recruiting candidates from our movements, giving them the tools to win, and organizing on the ground to flip seats and shift power.
In 2023, we helped elect the youngest state legislator in Virginia. Last cycle, we elected a slate of bold leaders like Molly Cook, Sarah McBride, and Oscar De Los Santos.
This cycle? We want to elect dozens more young progressives across the country.
But we can’t do it without you.
Every door we knock, every ad we run, every dollar we raise — it all fuels this work.
Thank you,
Leaders We Deserve
