Every one of the red-to-blue races we’re taking on is proof of something Republicans don’t want you to believe: their grip on power isn’t permanent.
With the right resources behind leaders who refuse to be bought by corporate interests or mega donors, and a message that truly connects with working people’s priorities, we can flip these seats.
That’s exactly why our Red-to-Blue Fund exists — to power bold, young candidates competing in the most critical districts across the country.
In a must-win election year, these are the races that will break GOP supermajorities and flip state legislatures. Here are a few of the candidates leading that fight:
⭐Laalitya Acharya for Ohio, HD-56 ️⭐
⭐Ken McCool for North Carolina, HD-105 ⭐
⭐⭐Tim Hayes for Pennsylvania, HD-143 ⭐
Laalitya Acharya founded the Warren County Young Dems, and fought back when Ohio Republicans tried to make it harder for constituents to pass ballot measures like the reproductive rights amendment. She’s running for Ohio’s statehouse to fully fund public schools, and expand healthcare access.
Her Republican opponent, Adam Mathews, is endorsed by JD Vance, chairs the board of a network of anti-abortion “crisis pregnancy centers,” and has argued against raising the minimum wage. At 22 years old, Laalitya is already outraising her incumbent challenger 3-to-1 without taking a dime of corporate money — but she needs your support right now to keep up her momentum and make sure this seat flips blue.
Ken McCool made history when he became one of the youngest elected officials in North Carolina’s history at 21 years old. Since then, he’s served as Mayor Pro Tem, expanding affordable housing options, securing the largest park investment in Matthews’ town history, and helping recruit the Hendrick Advanced Manufacturing Campus, bringing in high-paying jobs and new industry to the region. In Raleigh, he’ll fight to lower costs for working families, protect reproductive rights, and make sure Mecklenburg County gets its fair share of investment in education, transit, and public safety.
Ken is taking on Tricia Cotham, a Democrat turned Republican who cast the deciding vote to restrict abortion access in North Carolina and won her seat by just 206 votes in 2024. District 105 is competitive, but winnable — and winning this race is critical to making sure we’re able to protect the Democratic governor’s veto power.
Tim Hayes made history at 21 as the youngest person elected in Bucks County and the first openly LGBTQ+ member of Dublin Borough Council, then he helped flip the council blue. He now works at Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania, where he’s secured millions for land conservation, clean energy, sustainable farming, and has been sounding the alarm on AI data centers’ encroachment on local communities.
In Harrisburg, he’ll fight to build out Pennsylvania’s clean energy economy, hold corporations accountable, and make life more affordable for working families in Bucks County. Tim is taking on a GOP incumbent in a seat Democrats nearly flipped in 2024. This is our chance to finish the job. Tim has already proven he can flip a district — this one’s next.
Flipping these red seats blue is absolutely critical for state legislative power across Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Because the state legislature is where some of our most important fights are being decided: reproductive rights, who draws the maps for the 2028 elections, funding for public schools, combatting voter suppression, passing anti-gun violence legislation, medicaid funding. That’s why I’m asking for your support today — we need grassroots supporters like you showing up to have these leaders’ backs and end the GOP’s grip on power in Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
Will you make a $25 contribution to our Red to Blue Fund today?
Thank you.
