I’m not going to sugarcoat this.
A Congress that actually stands up to Trump and puts a real check on his dangerous agenda will be won in a handful of districts, by a few thousand votes — in the next 16 days.
We’re backing leaders in three of those critical races, and each one is a chance to flip a Republican-held seat in the House or Senate and actually deliver for working families. They’ve spent their lives serving their communities, and now they’re ready to take that fight to Washington:
⭐ Kristina Knickerbocker (OH-10) ⭐️
⭐ Randy Villegas (CA-22) ⭐️
⭐ Angie Nixon (FL-Senate) ⭐
Chip in $25 now to help send these fighters to Congress.
Kristina Knickerbocker has spent her life caring for others. She led medical teams as an Air Force major, then became a neuro-oncology nurse practitioner, where she watched our broken, for-profit healthcare system force cancer patients to choose between life saving treatment and groceries. As a mom who’s lived the maternal health crisis firsthand, she’s determined to fight for a healthcare system that actually works for the people it’s supposed to serve. In Congress, she’ll fight to restore ACA subsidies, pass paid family leave, and get big money out of politics.
Her opponent, Mike Turner, has been in Congress for more than 20 years, and he’s betrayed Ohioans at every turn. He voted for the Republican law that slashed food assistance and gutted Medicaid coverage for nearly 356,000 working people in his own state.
This race is becoming more competitive by the day. Kristina is building momentum and with enough grassroots support behind her, she can flip this seat and finally deliver for all the Ohioans Mike Turner has failed.
Randy Villegas grew up in a working class family in Bakersfield, CA that relied on Medi-Cal and WIC to get by. He knows what it feels like to live with the same struggles Americans are facing right now. In Congress, he’ll fight for Medicare for All, a lower cost of living, and good union jobs for the Central Valley.
His opponent, David Valadao is propped up by AIPAC and various other corporate PACs working to make life harder in the Valley. That’s who he answers to — not Californians. Valadao promised not to support any healthcare cuts, then voted for the Republican megabill that slashed it in a district where nearly two thirds of residents rely on Medi-Cal.
Valadao winning this seat will mean more broken promises for families in the Valley. In 2022, Valadao’s challenger only lost by 3,132 votes. CA-22 is one of the most competitive districts in the country and Randy winning is critical to flipping the House.
Angie Nixon is a mother of five, a fierce union organizer, and a proven fighter for Floridians. She’s spent her life building power in her community, one block at a time — that’s how she beat her establishment-backed primary opponent, who outspent her 16 to 1. In the State House, she expanded childcare access, took on a major grocery store for price gouging Floridians at the register, and led the fight against DeSantis’ racist gerrymandered maps. In the Senate, she’ll fight for Medicare for All, push for universal childcare, a national rent freeze and moratorium on evictions, stronger union protections, and a $25 federal minimum wage.
Her opponent, Ashley Moody was handpicked by Trump’s buddy Ron DeSantis for the seat. Moody voted to let ACA subsidies expire — a decision that has already cost nearly half a million Floridians their healthcare coverage. Florida is going to be a tough climb, but Angie has the grit and courage to take it all the way. She just needs your support to power her through to Election Day.
These are the courageous leaders who will walk into Congress on Day One ready to fight, not fold. But they can’t win their races alone. Leaders We Deserve doesn’t take a dime of corporate PAC money, and neither do they. Their campaigns are powered by grassroots supporters like you.
Thank you,
