I hear the same kind of frustrated reaction to Democratic fundraising a lot:
“Why are you asking me for $5 when Trump is destroying our country and Democrats aren’t doing anything about it?”
I can’t speak for every group, but I do know what sets Leaders We Deserve apart.
We represent a generation of people who walked out of their schools, marching with millions of their peers to demand action on gun violence and mass shootings.
Young people are at the forefront of progressive movements, fighting for solutions on issues like gun reform, climate change, student debt, and Gaza, to name a few.
Now, these same young leaders are old enough to actually run for political office, right at the time when we need a massive movement of young people in power.
Leaders We Deserve exists to transform these movements into political power. Running for office is more expensive than ever — and these young leaders need our support to help lead their movements into state legislatures and Congress. We know that the billionaire class isn’t showing up to bankroll these campaigns, so it’s not an exaggeration to say they can’t win these fights without grassroots support.
Right now, we’ve got a major end-of-quarter deadline TONIGHT at MIDNIGHT.
Can you contribute $5 to power our transformational movement?
The young candidates that Leaders We Deserve supports are gamechangers. They will revitalize the Democratic Party and revolutionize our government.
Our candidates are leading the fight to rebuild our political system. And they aren’t rebuilding the same political system that brought us school shootings, climate change, and everything that younger generations have to deal with in America.
They’re building something better — a system that actually works for the people.
I believe that a big part of the answer to Donald Trump is building a movement of young people who will take back the reins of our government from the far right.
Young people are up to this challenge. If history has taught us anything, it’s that great generations aren’t born, they’re made in the crucible of awful circumstances.
So when you give a donation to Leaders We Deserve, you aren’t just throwing out money at the status quo. You are investing in a different vision for what’s possible.
We only have a few hours left to reach our $100,000 end-of-quarter goal. I know we’ll get there before midnight with this extraordinary team’s continued support.
Please — pitch in $5 now to join our movement and fight for our future.
We can only do this work with your support. I deeply appreciate your generosity.
Thank you,
David Hogg
