Leaders We Deserve – July 24, 2026

You may have seen the news:

Wealthy owners of second homes in NYC were officially put on notice. Mayor Zohran Mamdani sent them a strongly worded letter — and unlike the ineffective ones Democrats usually send, this one will actually create lasting change.

A new pied-à-terre tax is coming soon — and luxury second homes worth $5 million or more will be taxed, generating an estimated $500 million a year in new revenue for New York City.

This is what we’re always talking about when we say we have to elect Democrats who actually deliver.

Too many of our politicians are content to roll over for their wealthy donors or special interest groups. When we fight to elect candidates like Mayor Mamdani, who take ZERO DOLLARS of corporate cash, they are never beholden to the failed status quo. They answer to the people who elect them.

Thanks to your support, we were able to be one of the largest organizational funders of the Mayor’s primary. But we need your help to keep doing this work.
