Kristina Knickerbocker has spent her life serving others. First as an Air Force major, where she led medical teams and improved care for active duty service members and their families, and then as a neuro-oncology nurse practitioner at Ohio State University Medical Center, where she watched our broken, for-profit healthcare system force cancer patients to choose between life saving treatment and groceries.
She knows this fight personally, and deeply. She has lived the harrowing experiences working people face, both as a patient and as a provider, and it’s made her more determined to fight for a healthcare system that actually works for patients, not insurance companies.
In Congress, Kristina will fight to restore ACA subsidies so working families can actually afford coverage, pass paid family leave so no parent has to choose between their job and their newborn, and take on the maternal mortality crisis that nearly took her own life. She’ll fight to overturn Citizens United and get big money out of politics, and demand real ethics reform for a Supreme Court that has spent years operating without meaningful oversight.
Her opponent, Mike Turner, has been in Congress for over 20 years, taking millions in corporate PAC money. He voted to slash food assistance for hundreds of thousands of Ohioans, and gutted Medicaid coverage for nearly 200,000 working people in his own state. And he eliminated the energy tax credits that were creating Ohio jobs and keeping utilities prices down — all to protect breaks for billionaires.
OH-10 is winnable, and Kristina is exactly the candidate to win it.
She brings something Turner never could: a lifetime of service to her community, and the conviction that comes from having lived the struggles she’s running to fix.
But Kristina can’t win this race without you.
