Help stop cuts to Publicly Funded Research! UAW 4591 is holding a Research Roundtable with staff from Sen. Murray’s and Rep. Baumgartner’s offices on Thur, Aug 28th at 5:30 pm. The event will showcase the critical research that drives progress and economic growth in Tri-Cities and beyond–and make the case for robust federal funding for scientific research in the 2026 federal budget. Join with researchers in the Tri-Cities area for a participatory live-stream of the event in the WSU East Auditorium (enter the campus via the entrance on Sprout Rd; the East building will be on your right, closest to the river).

VOLUNTEER Opportunity! #SolidaritySeptember

Dear Indivisibles,

We have a great opportunity to support local unions and build community connections! A group of local unions is hosting their annual Labor Day Picnic on Labor Day (Monday 9/1). We asked if they could use any volunteers to help with the event, and they said they would be thrilled to have additional hands. We’re looking for Indivisible members who can volunteer to help with set-up or tear-down (ideally both if you can make it!). 

• Date: Monday, 9/1 (Labor Day)
• Set-up hours: 8am – 11am 
• Tear-down hours: 3pm – 4:30pm 
• Location: Columbia Park Bandshell Highway 240 & Columbia River

If you are available to volunteer, please sign up here. Of course you are also welcome to stay for food and enjoy the picnic!

Note that we also have an Indivisible protest 10am – 12pm on Labor Day in a separate location (Columbia Center Blvd). Some of us may head over to the protest in between volunteer shifts.
