Harris-Walz – October 12, 2024

Posted on October 12, 2024

Just 24 days. Yes, you read that right — in fact, in some states, early voting starts this week.

We’ll be honest with you: this election will be close. It will be hard fought. And it will take every one of us rolling up our sleeves and getting to work.

The good news is: This team has the power to turn the page on Donald Trump and elect Vice President Harris and Governor Walz — but not without folks like you helping us get the vote out in these final weeks before the election.

To celebrate all that we’ve already accomplished…make sure to join our weekly volunteer pep rallies, where we’ll talk about the work that has been done and look ahead to the volunteer activities that we have coming up!

⬇️ Keep scrolling to learn more about how to make the biggest impact before November 5th ⬇️

FROM THE TRAIL: BARNSTORMING THE BATTLEGROUNDS

This past week Team Harris-Walz continued to barnstorm the battlegrounds and talk to the voters that will decide this election (from those watching Fox News to the listeners of the Call Her Daddy podcast), call out Donald Trump for his failed record and extreme agenda, unite voters from across the political spectrum, and release new ads.

Additionally, former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney campaigned with Vice President Kamala Harris in Ripon, Wisconsin. Congresswoman Cheney praised the Vice President for her dedication to protecting American democracy and condemned Donald Trump and JD Vance for pushing the same old playbook.

Cheney is joining the ranks of Republicans who are putting country over party and endorsing Vice President Harris to defeat Donald Trump. The growing list includes more than 200 Bush, McCain, and Romney alums and many former Trump admin officials and aides. The people who know Donald Trump best know he is unfit to serve as our commander-in-chief — and are ready to chart a new way forward.

SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHT: HEATHER IN COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA

Heather is a single mother originally from New Jersey living in Columbia, South Carolina, and has a daughter, Kierstynn, who she raised as a single mother. Heather’s only sister, Ellen, passed away from cancer in 2018 and her mother, Gwen, passed away in 2019. Since then, Heather has provided care for her father, Keith, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and is inspired by Vice President Harris’s story of caring for her mother while serving her country.

She is voting for Vice President Harris because she has seen how successful the Biden-Harris administration has been for the country and for her. In August of this year, Heather had her student loans forgiven by the administration. It has changed her life and she couldn’t be more grateful. She can’t wait to see all that the Harris-Walz Administration https://store.kamalaharris.com/will accomplish.

From our campaign to you: Thank you, Heather, for your dedication to electing Kamala Harris as our next President of the United States!

    October 17, 2026  11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
    https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1050350/

We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.

For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.

Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it's a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing the Tri-Cities together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

    You’re Invited: B5’s Hair Raisin’ FUNraiser — October 28

    October 28, 2026  5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Pasco Red Lion

Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating B5 and the community that makes our work possible. This event brings together friends, donors, volunteers, partners, and community leaders for dinner, a silent auction, Raise the Paddle, a costume contest, and stories of the people whose lives are changing through B5. This year also marks an important moment in B5’s story. The evening will celebrate Theresa Roosendaal’s leadership at her final fundraiser as Executive Director while looking forward to the organization’s next chapter. B5 is more than a place where people learn English. It is a place where people find confidence, belonging, relationships, and voice. Join us October 28 and help build what comes next. Together, We Thrive.
