We have 16 days remaining before ballots begin arriving in Washington voters’ mailboxes. Millionaire hedge fund manager Brian Heywood spent $6 million to put four initiatives on the ballot: I-2109 would cut billions in funding for schools and childcare, I-2117 would put our clean air and water at risk by repealing the Climate Commitment Act, I-2124 would eliminate Washington’s long-term care benefits for millions of working people, and I-2066 would roll back commonsense efficiency programs and drive up our energy bills.
These initiatives will cut taxes for big corporations and the wealthy, and shift the bill to middle- and lower-income families.
The Defend Washington campaign is mobilizing volunteers throughout Washington State to spread the word to vote NO on these initiatives. To defeat them, we need to canvass as many voters as possible to spread the word about the initiatives and the danger they represent to our families before election day. Will you join us and the No on I-2117 campaign to canvass key voters?
We need to defeat these initiatives to show Heywood that Washington State is not for sale, and to keep him from trying to buy himself a tax cut at our expense ever again.
