Three years ago today, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, ending the federal right to abortion.
We knew what was at stake. We knew it wasn’t going to stop there. And today, our worst fears are coming true.
| Three years ago today, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, ending the federal right to abortion. We knew what was at stake. We knew it wasn’t going to stop there. And today, our worst fears are coming true. And still, Emerge women are stepping up to fight back. The moment the Dobbs decision came down, women across the country turned to Emerge. Our website saw more than 28,000 users in June 2022 — a 355% spike from the previous month and nearly 6 times higher than the year before. The message was clear: Women saw their rights under attack and said: I’m ready to run. That’s what Emerge does. We recruit and train Democratic women to run for office and lead with courage. Today, Emerge alums are fighting to protect reproductive freedom in communities across the country. In Virginia—the last state in the South where abortion is still legal—Emerge alum Abigail Spanberger is the Democratic nominee for governor to ensure that it stays that way. We can’t afford to let up. Our rights are under attack. But we know what happens when Democratic women lead — they fight for all of us. Will you donate today to support the next class of Emerge women? |
