Doug White Update 7-15-2022

Posted on July 15, 2022

Why We Will Win! Por qué ganaremos!

I feel the biggest obstacle to Doug’s campaign is the ingrained belief that the 4th Congressional District is solidly Republican and a Democrat cannot win.  After reviewing voter registration data and statistics for the 4th Congressional district, Doug does not believe that is the case.

According to Doug’s campaign:

  • There are 390,000 registered voters in the 4th district.
  • 48,000 are flagged as likely Republican or consistently vote Republican
  • 56000 are flagged as likely Democratic or consistently vote Democratic
  • 35,000 are flagged as likely Independent with either a Democratic or Republican lean

For the other 251,000, there’s either no data (because they are registered but don’t vote in any partisan races) or their preference isn’t predictable

As you can see, there are not that many registered voters in this district who will consistently vote for a straight Republican ticket.  There are, in fact, more voters who will consistently vote for a straight Democratic ticket.  You could ask then: How do Republicans consistently win?  We believe it’s because this area is very conservative, not Republican, and a lot of people vote based on a general impression of who will win. It’s an emotional choice, not necessarily a logical one.

To that end, we are not targeting voters based on party.  We are largely targeting voters that consider themselves Independent and have voted for both Republicans and Democrats.  Again, we believe this isn’t a solidly ‘red’ district, it’s a solidly ‘conservative’ district.  A lot of that ‘conservatism’ is just ‘pragmatism,’ and we believe it’s likely that pragmatic voters will realize that the current group of Republican candidates aren’t practical small-government conservatives; they are ideological extremists who we believe everyone is tired of.  However, there’s a very specific type of voter that wants more of that; but that voter is not in the majority in our fair district.

In a lot of areas in our district, the vast majority of eligible voters either aren’t registered or are non-participatory.  Take Pasco, for example, where only about 15-20% of eligible voters actively participate yearly.  As a campaign, we strongly believe that if those voters saw a message they could identify with, they would show up.  A marginal turnout rate above what we normally see could change this district.

I truly believe this team has a path to victory, which seems to be playing out; Doug is leading in the polls and fundraising. Please take a few moments to visit Doug’s website, watch the short video, and read his campaign Vision Statement:

https://www.dougwhite4congress.us/vision

This is a community event: community resources, booths and meet the candidates for Congressional District 4.

Between postcards, phone banking and door-to-door, over 75 people helped the campaign this week- and we are getting more phone calls and emails every day.  Our campaign wouldn’t work without our community like that!

We need volunteers! Phone banking, Texting, Canvassing, Letter writing and so much more. Join us now for Blue in ’22.

**In Zillah, we don’t put up with would-be kings. Come out and let your neighbors know they aren’t alone.

Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.

The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
