Greetings!
I’m Samantha, campaign manager for State Superintendent Chris Reykdal’s re-election campaign. Thank you for your endorsement and for your support through the Primary. We truly could not have done it without you!
As we head into the fall, our team wanted to check in about a couple action items:
- LITERATURE: We have thousands of pieces of literature that we’d love to give you for your volunteers to hand out while they’re out doorbelling. Since our race is labeled as non-partisan on the ballot, name recognition is HUGE for us. We need help communicating with voters that Chris is the Democrat in the OSPI race and what his values are. Our literature goes over this in depth and we would really appreciate your help getting it into the hands of voters. Please let me know if you’re interested in having folks pass it out, and if so, about how many you need. If we gave you literature in the Primary but you ran out, don’t worry- we have more!
- SIGNS: We currently don’t have the budget to ship signs all over the state. However, we can drop off a limited number if we are driving through your area. Please let me know if you’d like to have some to hand out to your members, and I will add you to our list.
- CONTRIBUTIONS: We have less than 70 days to raise $80,000. If your organization has the budget for campaign contributions, we would very much appreciate your consideration of our campaign when allocating. Statewide campaigns such as this one require a decent chunk of money to run, but due to the race’s nonpartisan nature and low position on the ballot, it is a bit harder to raise money. We face a MAGA-backed opponent who has publicly stated his interest in trampling on student rights (specifically LGBTQ+ students), his wish that public colleges will go bankrupt, his support for Moms for Liberty, and his distaste for DEI work (he called it “horrible stuff” and banned it in the school district in which he serves as a board member for). It is absolutely imperative for our students, families, and educators that Chris retains his seat, and we need your help to make it happen!
