PDC welcomes two new commissioners in May
At its May 28 regular meeting, the Public Disclosure Commission will have two new commissioners – attorneys Mathew Segal and Teebah Alsaleh.
Public Disclosure Commission members are appointed by the Governor. Segal’s appointment was announced on April 16, and Alsaleh’s was announced April 24.
Segal is a Seattle University School of Law graduate and began his legal career clerking for Justice Charles W. Johnson of the Washington State Supreme Court. He has worked in private practice as well as on the bench, and is a founding partner of Seattle’s Pacifica Law Group.
Continuously evolving tech: PDC filing system updates
PDC switches secure sign-on service from SAW to WA.gov
Starting May 4, the Public Disclosure Commission will require users of its online filing systems to transition from Secure Access Washington (SAW) to WA.gov.
Washington state provides the secure sign-on service to all state agencies, but is discontinuing SAW in favor of the new WA.gov, designed to improve user experience. The new system is also intended to be more reliable and easier to use.
Returning filers will receive prompts beginning May 4 when they log into the PDC system. They will be guided through the process to link their new WA.gov account with their existing PDC information.

Filing week is here: Know your reporting responsibilities
Each year, thousands of Washington residents run for elected office. Each of them, with some exceptions, is required to report campaign financial activity with the Washington Public Disclosure Commission (PDC).
Many candidates will begin their campaigns on candidate filing week – May 4-8. We strongly encourage all new candidates to sign up for the PDC’s free, virtual classes, on topics including registering for office, reporting contributions and expenditures, and tutorials on filing online.

- Candidate filing week takes place from May 4 to May 8.
- The mandatory post-election C-4 report is due on May 11. This report is due for all full-reporting committees participating in the April special election, regardless of campaign activity.
- The PDC will be closed on Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day.
- Weekly contribution (C-3) reporting for candidates and committees participating in the 2026 general election cycle begins June. 1.
- The PDC will be closed Friday, June 19 for Juneteenth.
- The last day to switch from mini to full reporting before the primary election is June 22.
- The Public Disclosure Commission will meet for its monthly regular meeting on June 25.
