Today we…
Support new arrivals through education, relationships and community so they can thrive in their new home.
In the future, we will…
Create a community of open hearts, helping hands and supportive systems where strangers become friends and we all thrive.

The end of summer is approaching, the days are already starting to shorten, and the stores are filling with Halloween décor. Keep your eye out for the perfect costume because this year’s HAIRraisin’ FUNraiser will take place on Wednesday, October 30, at 6pm at the Pasco Red Lion Hotel and Conference Center. This will be an exciting evening of fun and celebrating B5 and an opportunity to show off your best costume!
The evening will feature a short film highlighting two people who have thrived at B5, who have created a community here in the Tri-Cities, and who exemplify the work that B5 strives to achieve. Guests will also hear an update from Executive Director Theresa Roosendaal about all that has happened at B5 since the new building has been completed. There will be opportunities to win door prizes, including a two-year lease on a new Subaru generously donated by McCurley Subaru. There will be games, delicious food, and of course a costume competition. Guests are encouraged to break out their best costumes for this Halloween bash!
Though this evening will be fun, it raises awareness of the work that B5 Learning Center does with the refugee community in the Tri-Cities. This is a great opportunity for you to invite friends who you want to introduce to B5’s mission. If you choose to be a Table Ambassador, you will have a table of ten seats to fill with anyone who you think will have an interest in B5 and the work that the organization carries out in our community. You can invite guests with the knowledge that they will not be asked to participate in an auction, they will not be asked to raise a paddle, instead this is a time where they can enjoy an evening of fun and learn more about the impact of B5 Learning Center.
If you are interested in sponsoring the event or being a Table Ambassador, please reach out to Larissa at 509-551-1643 or at larissa.knopp@thriveatb5.org.

An event like this requires a lot of work, and much of that work is done by volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, or any other special events, please fill out the volunteer application here.
B5 appreciates all the work that volunteers do in helping to create a community where strangers become friends and we all thrive.

Thank you to all of you who give your time and money, so refugees and immigrants can find welcome at the doors of B5. Your donation in any amount allows us to support our programs to help newly arrived refugees THRIVE in our community. Will you join us?
Donations can be made through our website or they can be mailed to: B5 Learning Center 715 S Jean Street Kennewick, WA 99336
