Extreme Risk Protection Orders (referred to as ERPOs) empower families and law enforcement to prevent gun tragedies by temporarily restricting access to guns for individuals at an elevated risk of harming themselves or others.
Washington passed an ERPO law overwhelmingly through a 2016 ballot initiative, and since then, countless lives have been saved through this process.
These protection orders only exist here in Washington because of a ballot measure, because people like you went to the ballot box and decided that your families and communities meant more than the gun lobby’s bottom line.
