Last night, a family outing at the Vancouver Mall turned into a nightmare. A shooting during a Halloween event left one person dead and two others injured. At the time of writing, the perpetrator is still at large. Our hearts are with everyone affected, especially the loved ones of those who were there, who are grieving, or who were caught in the chaos.
In moments like these, it’s natural to feel sadness, anger, and frustration – knowing that incidents like this are preventable and that no family should have to experience this fear.
Washington has made tremendous strides in gun responsibility, but it’s clear there’s more we can do. Change doesn’t happen on its own, though; it takes all of us pushing for it. Now is the time to speak out.
We’re asking you to join us in doing two things:
- If you haven’t voted yet – please vote for gun violence prevention champions up and down the ballot. The only way we can create change is if we put strong leaders into office. You can review our 2024 Endorsement list here.
- The 2025 legislative session is kicking off in January and we need your support to pass capstone policies in Olympia. Make sure our emails are hitting your inbox and sign up for texts to stay up to date on how you can get involved. Text AGR to 40649.
We will continue to show up for safer communities, so thank you for joining us in this fight.
Best,
