I’m following up with some promising movement regarding HB 1163 (Permit to Purchase) and SB 5098 (Restricting firearms in sensitive places). As of right now, both bills are scheduled to be heard in their respective budgetary committees on Friday!
Here’s the deal: both of these bills need to be recommended out of committee in order to receive a floor vote. The only way we can ensure that firearm violence prevention remains a top priority is to remind legislators how important HB 1163 and SB 5098 are. I am once again asking you to send a letter to your legislators.
We are in the final stretch and we need to leverage everything we can to make sure community safety doesn’t get put aside. The best way, right now, is to write to your legislators. Thank you for your steadfast advocacy – we are moving forward!
