Last week, we reached out about the proposed cuts to Washington’s victim services and violence prevention programs. Since then, the situation in Olympia has become even more urgent.
The reality is we are facing a funding cliff. Federal support for these programs has dropped significantly, and if our state legislators don’t bridge that gap, the “math” of public safety is going to break.
Legislators are in the final stages of budget negotiations.
They need to hear that we see through the “savings” and know the real cost of these cuts.

Cutting these programs is like trying to save money on a car by removing the brakes. It might look cheaper on paper, but the crash will cost us everything.
