Gun violence is the leading cause of death for youth in America. We need leaders who understand the urgency of this crisis and have the courage and experience to take it on. Girmay has shown again and again that he’s up to the task.
As Chair of the King County Council, Girmay has fought for policies that save lives and build safer communities. He’s helped secure investments in crisis care, housing, and economic opportunity.
He also understands that safety is about more than policing. It’s about addressing root causes. That’s why he’s been a champion for upstream solutions, from funding youth programs to strengthening mental health care.
Ballots dropped July 17, and voters have until August 5 to return them. This is the first time in 16 years King County will elect a new Executive. Let’s make it count.
