Our immigration system is fundamentally broken.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are racially profiling, shooting, and killing people in our streets. Thousands of people are being abused in horrific detention centers. Our government uses legal status as a weapon, while providing almost no real option for families and long-term residents to pursue citizenship or lasting protection from deportation.
Our immigration system needs a total overhaul. While we fight to get ICE agents off our streets and end the terror they’re creating in our communities, we’re going to Washington, D.C. this Monday, demanding Congress create legal protections for residents and prevent the Trump administration from mass deporting our neighbors.
The Dream and Promise Act is an essential bill to kickstart the major reforms needed.
Across the country, millions of people who are part of American communities – raising families, paying taxes, and contributing to the economic and cultural vibrancy of our towns – are facing the threat of deportation and have no viable pathway to citizenship. The Dream and Promise Act creates that path for Dreamers who came to this country as children, and people who have built a life here and cannot safely return to their home countries.
The mass deportation agenda is a costly failure that harms every one of us. ICE is terrorizing our streets and killing our neighbors. We need immediate changes to create an immigration system that actually works for people and keeps our communities safe.
Thanks for all you do,
