ACLU Supporter –
Since we can’t rely on the courts to protect our reproductive rights, we the people, must organize and claim our freedom to make personal decisions about our bodies and our futures.
That’s why Texans of different races, ages, and genders are joining together through the Texas Abortion Advocacy Network (TAAN) Academy.
Registration is now open for this free, 10-week virtual training experience taught by reproductive rights, health, and justice leaders. I highly recommend it! You’ll get the tools and relationships you need to be a leader in the ongoing struggle to restore and expand abortion access throughout Texas.
As a past graduate, I know firsthand that TAAN Academy serves as a supportive and inspiring space. Participants learn how to more effectively talk with their loved ones, share their stories, provide compassion and care, and work together.
Sign up today: It’s critical for us to mobilize now.
Since state politicians totally banned abortion, we’ve witnessed Texans like Kate Cox being denied life-saving medical care and being forced to continue dangerous pregnancies.
Meanwhile, elected officials in places like Amarillo are trying to prevent pregnant people from traveling out-of-state to seek abortion care. Community members in Amarillo, including TAAN alumni, have successfully pressured the city council to reject past bans, but the proposal will resurface on the November ballot – and other Texas counties may follow their lead.
The first TAAN Academy class is Tuesday, September 10.
If you miss a class or want to review what we’ve worked on, you can revisit the content and access additional valuable resources.
I’m extremely grateful for the community that TAAN Academy has allowed us to build here in Texas. It has renewed my faith in the future we’re creating together.
I hope you’ll join us.
In this together,
