It’s Senator Patty Murray.
Before I ever ran for office, I was a mom fighting for my kids’ preschool program here in Washington state.
When I first got involved in politics, a state legislator told me I couldn’t make a difference because I was just a “mom in tennis shoes.” I’ve spent my whole career proving him wrong by standing up for families and kids who need someone in their corner.
That’s what this fight is about.
Initiatives 638 and 001 are being sold as a way to “protect” kids. They do the opposite.
Our schools should be places where every kid feels safe, supported, and free to be who they are—we need to focus on making sure our kids are getting the best education possible, not fixating on culture war issues that don’t help anyone. I’ve fought for that in the classroom, on the school board, and in the U.S. Senate, and I’m not about to stop now.
Thank you,
Senator Patty Murray
