This past quarter, we asked a question that sits at the heart of everything March For Our Lives does:
What does freedom mean if young people are not safe from gun violence?
We spent the last three months trying to answer it — not just in words, but in action. Here’s what that looked like.
The Pledge
As the United States marked its 250th anniversary, we launched The Pledge — a PSA that reimagines children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance as gunfire sounds in the background. The contrast between “liberty and justice for all” and the reality of lockdown drills asks viewers to consider what freedom actually means for young people growing up with gun violence. It reached tens of thousands of people and started conversations we’re proud to have been part of.
250 Years of Guns in America
We built 250 Years of Guns in America, an interactive educational archive tracing how guns became so deeply embedded in American life — from the colonial era to today — and pairing that history with evidence-based solutions that prove the status quo is neither inevitable nor irreversible.
Bringing the Message to the World Cup
We brought gun violence prevention to the 2026 FIFA World Cup — one of the largest stages on earth — through in-person activations in host cities and a limited-edition No. 1 U.S. jersey carrying a message that too many people still don’t know: guns are the leading cause of death for American children and teens.

The Machine: A User Manual for the Gun Industry
We launched The Machine: A User Manual for the Gun Industry — an open-source resource that maps how manufacturers, lobbyists, political spending, and industry narratives connect to sustain the gun violence crisis. Because you can’t dismantle a system you don’t understand.
Reimagining Freedom in America
We held our inaugural Reimagining American Freedom Art Competition for young people ages 14 to 24. The first place winner, Alexandrea Procida, created Liberty & Justice — 296 hand-sewn backpacks embroidered with the names of people killed in school mass shootings, arranged in the shape of an American flag. It stopped us in our tracks.
Building the Next Generation of Advocates
And we launched the inaugural March Forward Fellowship — bringing eight young people impacted by gun violence to Washington, DC for a kickoff weekend of storytelling training, leadership coaching, and community-building. By December, each fellow will have completed a digital storytelling project and a community activation in their home state. We are investing in the next generation of this movement, and watching them find their footing has been one of the most powerful things we have witnessed in this work.
None of this happened by accident. It happened because of sustained, year-round organizing and because of people like you who make it possible.
As we head into Q4, with Election Day on November 3rd and the holiday fundraising season ahead, we need to make sure we have the resources to keep going.
Will you chip in $10 today to fuel the work that’s already changing what’s possible?
Freedom should mean something for every young person in this country. We’re going to keep fighting until it does.
With love and resolve,
March For Our Lives
