on November 3rd, we’re going up against the most extreme and well-funded anti-trans initiatives in the country, but our final end-of-quarter deadline is tonight.
Here’s why this fight matters. Initiatives 638 and 001 are being bankrolled by hedge fund boss and MAGA mega donor Brian Heywood, who has been on a personal crusade to impose his own conservative ideology on our state for years.
These are some of the most well-funded anti-LGBTQ initiatives in the country, and if they pass, ALL of our students will suffer the consequences.
I-638 would force ALL girls who want to play school sports to undergo invasive physical exams to prove their sex. However, boys would be exempt from the exact same policy.
I-001 would strip protections for students facing abuse, bullying, or harassment. It could also force schools to out LGBTQ+ students to unsupportive families.
We cannot be complacent or take any vote for granted in our campaign to defeat these measures. Because if we do, there is a very real risk that they pass.
If 001 and 638 pass here, MAGA politicians will use them as blueprints to pass anti-trans measures across the country.
That’s why we have to get the truth in front of Washingtonians every single day until November 3rd, and finish out this month strong.
