WA Immigrant Solidarity Network – September 4, 2026

Posted on September 4, 2026

[Español Abajo]

We have been overwhelmed by the response from this community this week.

So many of you donated, shared our message, sent words of encouragement, and reminded us what it looks like for a community to support each other when times are tough.

Your support helps protect resources immigrant and refugee communities rely on every day: a statewide Hotline that connects community members to more than 1,200 resources and direct service providers vetted to be accessible for immigrants and refugees; the coordination of Rapid Response Teams to be ready to act whenever immigration enforcement enters our communities; and organizing for policy change that builds power within immigrant communities across Washington.

At its core, WAISN’s work has always been powered by people, many of whom are directly impacted community members themselves. Our staff has answered hundreds of thousands of calls and texts to the Hotline, organized for life-changing policies in Olympia, trained thousands of Rapid Response and Accompaniment volunteers, and maintained the systems that make statewide coordination and shared intelligence possible.

That is why our investment in labor has been intentional. Too many people are forced to leave the non-profit sector and movement work altogether because they simply can’t afford to stay. We have worked to provide our staff with living wages, health benefits, and paid time off including menstrual leave and mental health days, because we believe the people doing this essential work should be able to build stable lives while doing it.

The incredible support we’ve received over the last few days does not erase the long road ahead, but it does remind us we are not alone in what comes next. And we are going to use every resource entrusted to us where it can have the greatest impact for immigrant and refugee communities.

To everyone who donated, shared our message, or reached out: thank you. We do not take your trust and support for granted.

If you haven’t had a chance to contribute and would like to help us keep this work going, please consider making a gift today:

MAKE A GIFT TO WAISN »

With gratitude,

Brenda Rodríguez López & Catalina Velásquez
Executive Directors
Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network

P.S. We also want to be clear that the Fair Fight Bond Fund is separate from WAISN’s general operating funding. Donations to the Bond Fund continue to go 100% toward helping release people from immigration detention — and you can make a donation to the Fair Fight Bond Fund here.

[ENGLISH ABOVE]

If you believe in this work, you know it takes resources to keep this movement going. Please donate today to help us continue showing up for immigrants and refugee communities all across our state.

    https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1050350/

We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.

For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.

Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not purely a protest. Instead, on October 17th, it's a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing the Tri-Cities together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

    You’re Invited: B5’s Hair Raisin’ FUNraiser — October 28

    October 28, 2026  5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Pasco Red Lion

Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating B5 and the community that makes our work possible. This event brings together friends, donors, volunteers, partners, and community leaders for dinner, a silent auction, Raise the Paddle, a costume contest, and stories of the people whose lives are changing through B5. This year also marks an important moment in B5’s story. The evening will celebrate Theresa Roosendaal’s leadership at her final fundraiser as Executive Director while looking forward to the organization’s next chapter. B5 is more than a place where people learn English. It is a place where people find confidence, belonging, relationships, and voice. Join us October 28 and help build what comes next. Together, We Thrive.
