We emailed on Monday that a judge in Texas struck down rules on the sale of silencers and easily-concealed weapons.
Today, a different judge in the same district court overturned federal regulations on dangerous ghost guns that were put in place during the Biden administration.
We’re reminded again of how crucial our state-based work is – since Washington has passed our own rules against ghost guns, we’re protected.
Ghost guns are unserialized and untraceable firearms that are built from individual parts or kits. That means that dangerous people who would be denied by a background check, like domestic abusers, can buy or even print components and assemble a gun.
This ruling makes communities without state laws against ghost guns less safe, and the jobs of law enforcement exponentially more difficult.
And this is precisely why our work matters. We will save the most lives the quickest by passing commonsense laws state-by-state.
Thank you for helping to save lives,
