On Tuesday, teachers, nurses, child care workers, and parents officially launched the No on 645 campaign. Now, we’re asking you to join.
If passed, I-645 would blow a $13 billion dollar hole in our state budget, effectively cutting healthcare, child care, and education funding for Washington families. Can we count on you to add your support for this campaign by pledging to vote No on 645?
At our launch, Bryan, who works in tech and would pay the Millionaires Tax, explained why he’s opposing I-645, “If we are going to have an economy that truly works for everyone, we have got to fix our upside-down tax code where every year you are paying more, while I am paying less. If initiative 645 passes, it will make things even worse.”
Henry, a recent University of Washington graduate, shared how I-645 would roll back funding for the Working Families Tax Credit, making it harder for him to afford med school applications.
“I don’t make enough to pay for basics now, and I-645 is going to make things even less affordable by driving up my taxes and future education costs. Do we really want to raise taxes on 500,000 lower income Washington households in order to pay for a massive tax cut for a very few wealthy individuals? I don’t think so.”
I don’t think so either. Join the campaign and pledge to vote no on I-645.
