No Hate in Washington State – July 20, 2026

Last month, the Supreme Court ruled that states can ban transgender girls from participating in girls’ school sports.

For nearly two decades, our state has used a case-by-case basis to protect transgender students and ensure every child is treated with dignity and respect.

This approach remains in place for now. But, as you read this, it is under attack.

MAGA mega-millionaire Brian Heywood and Let’s Go Washington are backing a slate of initiatives that would roll back protections Washington families have relied on for years, including a ballot measure to pass the most extreme ban on trans girls in sports in the whole country. 

The measures that the Supreme Court ruled on last month are from West Virginia and Idaho. But unlike West Virginia and Idaho, Heywood’s ban would require girls (and just girls) to undergo invasive genital exams to participate in sports. It would be harmful, expensive, and dangerous for our kids. 

That’s why we’re organizing in every corner of the state to educate voters, defeat these harmful initiatives, and protect the values that make Washington stronger.

Every dollar helps us reach more voters before these measures make it onto the ballot.
