The Fourth of July may have passed, but we’re not done fighting for our nation’s future – and we’re also not done WINNING.
Yes, we said the “W” word: Winning! In fact, in no small part due to the power and persistence of moms and parents, these state wins have happened in just the past couple of months:
- North Carolina: Won expanded paid leave for public employees.
- West Virginia: Secured vital child care funding.
- New Hampshire: Defeated harmful book bans to keep schools inclusive.
- Pennsylvania: Powering toward passing a statewide paid family and medical leave law.
- New York City: Won major investments in child care.
Now, we need to use these state wins, and this MOMentum, to grow power in our nation’s capitol so that no matter where people live, every parent has access to these critical policies.
And we have a plan.

As we pass the 4th of July, moms have a declaration to make about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Spoiler alert: It starts with affordable health care, universal child care, and groceries that don’t cost a fortune.
You know it. We feel it. Things aren’t good right now. We’re in an affordability crisis that didn’t have to be this bad: Last year, President Trump signed devastating cuts to health care and nutrition programs into law. Now, Congress must reverse those cuts and start opening avenues for families and our economy to thrive – and we have a plan for them to do it: The Mom Plan for America.
Skeptical that we can win? Don’t be! We know change is possible because moms are already winning at the state and local levels. (See the inspiring wins list above).
These victories didn’t happen by accident. They happened because moms showed up, raised their voices, and organized for change.
If we can win critical victories in states across the nation, then Congress can do it nationally too. It’s time to scale these wins.

We are launching the Mom Plan for America—a 12-point blueprint for an America where all families and our economy can thrive.
As part of this Mom Plan, we’re calling on Congress to:
- Reverse the health care cuts, including the $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts, enacted through H.R. 1.
- Reverse the nutrition cuts enacted through H.R. 1 in this year’s Farm Bill.
- Reject any additional cuts to nutrition or health care programs in the Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations bills.
- Prioritize policies that expand access to affordable health care and nutrition assistance for all families, including permanently extending the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits.
- And, last but far from least, advance the Mom Plan for America!

- Defend Democracy: Unshakeable voting rights, freedom of speech, and safe access to polling locations.
