Paid canvassers are collecting signatures on IP26-645 to repeal a tax that would be paid by less than 1% of the wealthiest Washingtonians – just mega-millionaires and billionaires.
Repealing this tax would undo a lot of the hard work you did this session to make our tax code fairer, but let’s be clear about what we would lose if they are successful, and why you should commit to decline to sign their petition.
Eliminating the Millionaires Tax could TAKE AWAY:
- The expansion of the Working Families Tax Credit, which will put cash in the pockets of 1 million low and middle income families.
- The sales tax cuts for over-the-counter medicine, diapers, hygiene and grooming products, saving families hundreds of dollars each year.
- The new B&O tax cuts that apply to the majority of small businesses in WA, giving them the biggest tax cut in state history
- Free school meals for all Washington K-12 students, plus more money for childcare and early learning
- Billions of dollars for education, healthcare, and other essential services
Rolling all of that back for millions of Washingtonians just so some mega-millionaires and billionaires can give themselves a tax cut? We don’t think so.

To go the extra mile, forward this email to a friend or two and help us get the word out about this harmful initiative.
