I’ll cut to the chase– this election is a make or break moment for the Washington State Supreme Court. With a full majority of Justices on the ballot at the same time, I’m not exaggerating when I say we’ve never had a more impactful judicial election in our State’s history.
The good news is that Colleen is sweeping up major endorsements and building the momentum we need to run a strong campaign. The Washington State Labor Council, Washington Education Association, and the International Association of Machinists District 751 join an exhaustive list of current and former officials, every member of the Washington State Supreme Court, statewide elected leaders, community leaders and more.
However, with Primary voting starting in less than two months, we need to be ready for anything. Colleen’s opponent has made his career, in his own words, by “minimizing the tax costs of doing business” for powerful and deep-pocketed corporations. Those special interests are ready and able to flood this race with dark money through independent expenditures and PACs at a moment’s notice.
When they do, if we haven’t raised enough money to fight back and get Colleen’s message in front of voters, it’ll already be too late.
This opposition knows exactly what’s at stake on our State Supreme Court and they are motivated to elect a candidate who will push their profit agenda at the expense of a thoughtful, balanced and impartial court.
