Texas had a big Tuesday.
NDTC learner Christian Menefee won his Democratic primary runoff for TX-18, pulling nearly 70% of the vote in a race that was engineered to erase him. Republicans gerrymandered two sitting Black Democratic leaders into the same district, forced a fight that didn’t need to happen, and then watched Menefee win anyway. It was the district’s fourth election in seven months. Voters are tired, but they still made their choice about what comes next.

Trump endorsed Paxton, a man whose FBI investigation, impeachment, and assorted scandals fill a dense Wikipedia page. Republicans looked at all of that and said: yes, him. Now Paxton faces James Talarico in November, and Democrats have a real shot at their first Texas statewide win since 1994.
They dealt us a winnable matchup. Let’s not waste it.
And NDTC had 22 learners on the ballot in Tuesday’s Texas runoff. 8 wins, 3 races still counting, including one underdog. We are fighting at every level in every state. Want to be part of that fight? T
