Friend, are you the parent of a school-aged child in Washington?
If so, you have good reason to be concerned about Initiative 2109.
I-2109 would cut billions from K-12 education, school construction, early learning, and so much more. That’s why we need parents across Washington to stand together in opposition to I-2109. If you’re ready to defeat I-2109 and protect our children’s education, sign our petition today:
Initiative 2109 would get rid of the capital gains tax, dismantling essential funding streams that sustain our schools. Only the 4,000 wealthiest Washingtonians have to pay this tax, but the funding it generates benefits every Washingtonian.
In just two years, the capital gains tax has paved the way for 171 school construction projects and brought in $386 million in funding for child care and early learning. That’s equivalent to $833 for every child aged 0 to 5 in Washington state.
We must defeat I-2109 and preserve our state’s investments in our children’s schools. This is more than an economic issue – it is a moral imperative that calls upon parents to take a stand.
Together, we will stop this initiative and protect our children’s futures.
Thank you for taking action,
