Team Reykdal here! We are so grateful for your organization’s endorsement of Chris’ re-election effort and for all you’re doing to elect Democrats statewide. In these last few days before the primary, outreach to your members means the world to your endorsed candidates. In this OSPI race (non-partisan by Constitution), we really need your and your members’ help to let the community know who the Democrat in the race is.
When you reach out to your members, please feel free to share our campaign’s material on what Project 2025 has in store for education. Below is sample language for you to use, and attached is a graphic you may share via email, social media, etc.

By now you have heard of Project 2025; it’s a 900-page manifesto designed by a group of extremists who claim it’s a blueprint for the policy agenda if Donald Trump is elected. At its core, it is about dismantling many of the laws, protections, and institutions that have formed America’s opportunity fabric. Here is a sample of what Project 2025 portends for public education:
- Eliminates the U.S. Department of Education;
- Pushes tax-payer funded vouchers to subsidize for-profit schools, corporations, and churches;
- Removes authentic discussions of race and gender in schools;
- Eliminates federal funds that support high-poverty schools and low-income youth;
- Removes the rules and regulations that accompany the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA);
- Deregulates charter schools;
- Rolls back gender equality protections;
- Requires school staff to out LGBTQ+ students to their parents;
- Provides limited federal funds to schools, with no civil rights enforcement obligations; and
- Makes it harder for students to qualify for free school meals.
Chris Reykdal was State Superintendent during the last Trump administration (Betsy DeVos), and even before Project 2025, he spent serious time and resources defending our diverse students and our public schools. He is prepared to do it again!
